AOL Instant Messenger developer team laid off, RIP AIM
AOL’s Instant Messenger used to be the king of instant messaging services, but oh how the mighty have fallen. With more people using Twitter, Facebook, Gchat and iMessage for their instant electronic communication, AIM has taken a big hit. And now it looks like AIM is dead after AOL fired the entire development staff, leaving only a handful of support people. That means no new AIM, no new updates.
